Which one is better suited for you and your family? Burns Honda hopes to help you decide with this 2019 Honda Accord vs. 2019 Nissan Altima comparison.

2019 Honda Accord vs Nissan Altima Passenger Space

2019 Honda Accord Passenger CapacityThe Honda Accord is a midsize sedan that’s made to accommodate five people comfortably during even your longest drives. The interior has a total passenger volume of 105.6 cubic feet.

What makes up that spacious interior is 39.5 inches of front headroom and 42.3 inches of front legroom. Passengers in the back get lots of space too, with 37.3 inches of rear headroom and 40.4 inches of rear legroom.

No one will feel cramped when you’ve got three passengers riding in back, thanks to 55 inches of rear hip room and 56.5 inches of rear shoulder room.

To give you convenient options while carrying both passengers and cargo, the back seats feature a fold-down rear seatback with a center armrest and available 60/40 split. The trunk space can carry a lot for you with 16.7 cubic feet.

The 2019 Nissan Altima also has an interior built for five people, but it’s a little smaller with a passenger volume of only 100.8 cubic feet.

Your backseat passengers will feel that difference the most. They’re in for a tighter squeeze with only 35.2 inches of rear legroom and 54.5 inches of rear hip room. The trunk is also smaller with only 15.4 cubic feet of cargo room.

2019 Honda Accord vs Nissan Altima Safety

Protecting you and your passengers is a consideration built into the core of the 2019 Honda Accord. It was made with an Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) Body Structure that absorbs frontal impact and redirects force away from the passenger area.

On top of that, you’ll be protected by an all-around advanced airbag system, including:

  • Advanced Front Airbags
  • SmartVent® Front Side Airbags
  • Side Curtain Airbags with Rollover Sensor
  • Driver and Front Passenger Knee Airbags

You’ll also be protected by the technology of the Honda Sensing® driver assistance bundle. This features helpful alerts such as a Lane Keeping Assist System and Collision Mitigation Braking System™.

The 2019 Nissan Altima also has a full airbag system and helpful driver assistance features, but it wasn’t built with the same intelligent frame as the ACE™ body structure.

2019 Honda Accord vs Nissan Altima Infotainment System

2019 Honda Accord Infotainment FeaturesIn addition to helpful driver assistance features, the 2019 Honda Accord keeps you informed and connected to your drive with a great all-around infotainment system.
